RIOPE
- Title: Recherche Iterative d'Objets PEdagogiques
- Type: Incentive Institut Telecom project
- Duration: 2008 - 2009
- URL: https://picoforge.int-evry.fr/cgi-bin/twiki/view/Riope/Web/
- Responsable for SIMBAD: Alda Gancarski
- Description
RIOPE project is about the definition and validation of an environment for the dynamic search and composition of learning objects.
SCOrWare
- Title: Service Component Oriented softWare
- Type: National project (ANR)
- Duration: January 2007 - December 2008
- URL: www.scorware.org
- Responsable for SIMBAD: Samir Tata
- Description
The SCOrWare project aims at providing an open source implementation
of the recent Service Component Architecture (SCA) specifications
defined by the Open SOA collaboration, an industrial consortium in the
domain of software engineering, including BEA Systems, IBM
Corporation, IONA Technologies, Oracle, Red Hat, Rogue Wave Software,
Siemens, Sun Microsystems, and Sybase. Briefly, SCA defines a new
architecture and programming model for Service Oriented Applications
(SOA) based on the component paradigm and supporting several service
description languages such as WSDL and Java interfaces, several
programming languages such as Java, C++, and BPEL, several
communication protocols between applications such as SOAP, CORBA, Java
RMI, and JMS. My role within this project is semantic description and
discovery of SCA components.
RESPIRE
- Title: Peer-to-peer resources and services, querying and replication
- Type: National project (ANR)
- Duration: 2006 - December 2008
- URL: respire.lip6.fr
- Responsable for SIMBAD: Bruno Defude
- Description
Respire aims to provide a peer-to-peer (P2P) environment for advanced data management applications. It gathers research teams from the "databases" area and from the "distributed systems" area, in order to take advantage from their respective background, to have a more global view of the problem and to raise synergism.
The benefits of a P2P architecture is the scalability based on autonomic peers which may at any moment join/leave the network, publish resources (data and services) for sharing, use resources published by other peers and eventually take part in a collaborative work process. There are many target applications, mainly those gathering world-wide spread professional communities (ex. researchers) or e-learning. Those applications manipulate heterogenous, semantically rich data, and thus require more advanced functionalities than the simple key-based file sharing and retrieval usually proposed by P2P systems
Respire is based on the JXTA infrastructure which provides a complete abstraction from the underlying P2P network organization (DHT, flooding, super-peer). Respire services are divided into basic services (peer management, communication management, group subscribing, notification, data storage and key-based retrieval) and advanced service which rely upon basic services for data access (querying), logical clustering, collaborative work and distributed query evaluation. Part of basic services will be provided by the JXTA infrastructure. The main actions that will be developed in the project are resource access and sharing, managing logical cluster, handling replication and automated deployment of the environment.
TANDEM
- Title:
- Type: RNTS project
- Duration: 2006 - 2008
- URL: www.tandem.vermeil.org & www.tandem.memosyn.org
- Responsable for SIMBAD: Bruno Defude
- Description
Decembre 2005 a decembre 2009. Partenaires du projet : Hopital Broca-Assistance Publique-Hopitaux de Paris, TELECOM SudParis - Institut TELECOM, Groupe ESIEE-ISTM-Chambre de Commerce et d'Industrie de Paris, Laboratoire TIMC-IMAG-UMR CNRS 5525- Universite Joseph Fourier-Grenoble 1, Pole geriatrie du CHU de Toulouse, CGx-Systemes SAS.
SIAS
- Title: Systemes d'Information Adaptatifs et Semantiques
- Type: Incentive Institut Telecom project
- Duration: 2006 - 2007
- URL: sias.enstb.org
- Responsable for SIMBAD: Claire Lecocq
- Description
S4ALL
- Title: Services for all
- Type: European project (ITEA)
- Duration: July 2005 - June 2007
- URL: www.hiit.fi/fi/s4all
- Responsable for SIMBAD: Samir Tata
- Description
S4ALL aimed to allow users to create and share mobile and user centered
services as easy as it is for web pages. The project addresses two
main issues: the service-creation process and the associated service
execution environment. Service creation will become much simpler,
thanks to graphical tools based on manipulation of icons representing
existing services or capabilities; this will allow anyone to create or
customize their own mobile and personalized services. An enhanced
middleware layer will permit the implementation of service oriented
architecture (SOA) principles such as a loosely coupled approach,
generalized semantic publishing and discovery, and fast and automatic
deployment of components. It also allow anyone to host and manage
their services on a personal computer (PC) or mobile terminal, thanks
to the use and improvement of ObjectWeb open-source solutions such as
open-source cluster application resources (OSCAR) and Java open
application server (JOnAS).
RAREII
- Title: A learning-based approach for query routing for P2P systems (Routage de requetes optimise par apprentissage dans les architectures P2P)
- Type: Incentive Institut Telecom project
- Duration: 2005 - 2006
- URL: www-inf.int-evry.fr/~defude/RARE
- Responsable for SIMBAD: Bruno Defude
- Description
The RAREII project is the successor of the RARE project on
semantic P2P systems. RARE main results are a dataset
generator, a P2P simulator based on PeerSim, routing and
learning algorithms based on past queries and peer's content,
efficient broadcast of routing informations.
RARE II innovates in the following areas:
- analysis of the temporal evolution of peer's content and queries
- simulation of P2P systems including a user-model
- learning-based routing of queries (coupling neural network and Bloom filters
